A week in ketosis – a quick tune-up
So, I stopped eating carbs on Sunday afternoon, after pizza, and by mid-day Monday I tested mild ketosis, and today is my second day of moderate to strong ketosis.
I definitely feel different. Good energy, but calm. Last night I had a little trouble falling asleep, sort of a super-awake ketosis high where my brain wouldn’t stop, but I feel well-rested today even though I got less sleep. No hunger at all, although I am thirsty and powering through flavored soda water at the office.
Had a hot buttered fish and sausage for dinner, bulletproof coffee and a piece of bacon for breakfast, more buttered coffee mid-morning, and a fat piece of smoked salmon for lunch. Pretty good eating. I’m thinking I could get around a steak for dinner, though.
Maybe I am a bit hungry, saying that.
Yesterday I was messaging with one of the readers of this page, who said that she has been on a ketogenic diet for the last six weeks and has lost 13 pounds. That’s actually one of the best things that’s happened to me all week. I’m doing all this irritating nonsense – drinking Cokes, posting pix of myself, shooting videos, charting my weight, and when somebody says it helped them… Cool. Let’s keep going.
Here’s what sounds good to me right now: Oysters. Luxury. Keto.
